Frequent Asked Questions:

Will I lose control of my mind or body?

You won't lose control over your mind or body during hypnosis. People usually remain aware during the session and remember what happens. Hypnosis does not override free will. In a hypnotherapy session, you will be conscious, awake, participating, and remembering. You cannot be hypnotised against your will.

What does hypnotherapy feel like?

Hypnotherapy does feel very nice and relaxing, almost like taking a nap. My clients often say that they don’t feel any difference when hypnotised, it’s like a guided meditation. Whilst being hypnotised you don’t need to do anything, I will guide you through the process. Often clients describe feeling that their whole body feels heavy and like it is sinking into the chair whilst others feel like they are floating.

For most issues, people are happy with the results after 4-7 sessions. It depends on the presenting issue.

Who can be hypnotised?

Hypnosis can work for almost anyone, though some people can enter this state easier than others. We experience this natural state of mind everyday. You enter a state similar to hypnosis when daydreaming, meditating, driving on the road and arriving at your destination automatically, or being so deeply engrossed in a project or conversation that time seems to fly.

What is the success rate of hypnotherapy?

Research trials comparing psychoanalysis and hypnosis demonstrated that after 6 sessions of hypnotherapy 93% of participants had success.

The available clinical research evidence has found that online sessions are just as effective as face-to-face. Online hypnotherapy is a safe and convenient alternative to face to face sessions. It is just as effective as working in person.
